Abandoned Theme Parks

1. The amusement park that i would like to go with my camera is the one in Irish Hills, Michigan. I would like to go here because it looks very interesting. Especially with the Prehistoric park and the walkways with the different looking buildings. The prehistoric forest really caught my eye because the dinosaurs look so real to the naked eye. It's quite amazing.

3. - Old Abandoned mansions
    - Abandoned schools
    - Homeless Alleyways
    - Abandoned psych wards.
    - & Old Print Factory

4.

                                                                Abandoned Psych Wards
      by: Martino Zegwaard

5. I think that it would be really cool to take pictures at an abandoned psych ward because there could be some interesting things there. For example, I could find old medicine cabinets and old cots that the patients slept on. I would expect to take photos of the different rooms ( the bedrooms, kitchen...etc.) I think that it would extremely interesting to take these photos just to experience what these patients went through.

6. In order for me to go to this particular near Europe i would probably need a lot of money. I think at least 5000 dollars to travel, get a hotel room, pay for food expenses. The equipment i would need would be a camera, a tripod, a mini tripod, probably a few flashlights so that i could see where and what i was doing. I would also need a laptop to document my photographs. I think that being in a different country would definitely affect my rights. So i would have to go the mayor or the town hall there and get my rights and restrictions in order to take these pictures.

Funny Captions!

       Earlier in China, some dumby from the sign factory decided to call a Chinese McDonalds "Mini Dog". In the past the same incident has happened with Jimmy and Juanlee, They say they are very upset with these inexcusable actions, but they say they're richer than ever before ( i guess more people are attracted to mini dogs than freezer burned hamburgers(; )

    Today, in the outskirts of the city some painter decided to use his head and spell bump wrong. Looks like somebody needs to go back to grammar school.

  Just now 6 six men from the first 48 constructer workers flipped a tractor thing while well i don't really know... Anyways, looks like they're gonna be promoted, to the street corners, holding up signs for food and money.

Black and White Photographers part 3

1.) The first thing that really caught my eye was the context of the way her photos were taken. For example when she took the photo of the barber in front of his shop. There is something about that photo that really catches my eye.

2.) Photo 1;
     I see: a man in front of a barber shop that has very little business.
     I smell: (if i was there) The smell of aftershave floating out of the barber shop. Along with the sharp smell of cigarettes and coffee.
    I hear: (if i was there) The sound of razors and the small talk between the barbers and the customer. also the noise of the traffic outside the barber shop when everyone just drives by
    I taste: (if i was there) The taste of sharp cologne. And the taste of fresh made coffee the old men are drinking.
    I feel: (if i was there) The feel of itchy hair on my skin. And dampness in the air because the barber has the air conditioner on too high.
Photo 2;
  I see: Two boys who look like they may have come out of a warzone.
 I smell: (if i was there) The smell of gun powder. And the smell of blood in the air along with body odor from the soldiers and townspeople running around.
 I hear: (if i was there) The small talk among soldiers. And the screaming of a mother who saw her husband shot to death.
 I taste: (if i was there) The taste of gun powder and sand. Along with last nights supper because I'm so scared.
 I feel: (if i was there) The feel of sand against my skin. Also the feel of shrapnel hitting against my skin and the feel of sadness in the air.

3.) I would love to make posters that are bright and colorful so that they catch the eyes of students. Also to make a power point about Berenice Abbott, and let everyone know what a wonderful photographer she is and the hardships she had to go through.

Academic Shoot Reflection! (:

1. The challenges that i found with this photo shoot was to find the rules in the classroom. For me if you were to send me outside to the woods or something i could find the rules better.

2. I found myself thinking about how I was holding the camera. For me when I take pictures with a camera i tend to hole it so that my hand is on the lens part of the camera.

3. If I were to do this differently I would change how I stood in the classroom or how the camera was positioned.

4. I would take the same type of pictures for some of the rules. Like the simplicity and balance.

5. I think that the easiest rule for me would definitely be the simplicity rule.

6. I think that the rule of thirds would be hardest, and the framing.

7. The merger is the one rule that really gets me stuck. I think that if I were to be taken out by someone and shown how that rule is in the classroom I would understand it more.

Academic Photo Shoot

Merger!
1. I don't think that i followed this rule very well.
2.The subject of this photo is merger.
3. I don't think it is.
4. I think that i could have bent down and had it look as if something was growing out of someone's head.

Simplicity!
1. I think that i followed this rule very well.
2. The subject is Simplicity.
3. Yes, I think that this is pretty obvious.

Lines! (Diagonal)
1. I think that I followed this rule very well.
2. The subject is Diagonal Lines.
3. Yes you can clearly see the Diagonal line.

Framing!
1. I think that I could have done better on this rule.
2. This subject is framing
3. To me it is, but to other people i don't think so.
4. I probably could have found a better example of framing.

Balance!
1. I think that i followed this rule very well.
2. The subject of this photo is balance.
3. Yes, it is.

Rule of Thirds!
1. I definitely could have done better with this.
2. The subject is supposed to be rule of thirds.
3. I don't think it's all that clear.
4. I could have gotten closer or zoomed in more so that you could see what it was.

Mural (:

1. I think that the theme for our class should be based on something all of us have in common and that we could easily relate to.'

2. We should use the actual cameras. I know that in my case my phone wouldn't work for this since my camera is shattered. (haha)

3. I think we should put where EVERYBODY can see it. In the lobby maybe? So that when people walk into the school they can see it. And if we're going to make more than one then we should put one by the aha sign before you go into the green hall upstairs.

Africa Pictures

1. I really liked this powerpoint. The pictures the photographer took were amazing photos.

2.
                                                      3. This is my favorite photo because it looks so surreal. Almost too good to be true. To me this photograph looks as if the lioness is looking at the horizon admiring something.

4. The rules of photography that are evident here are the rule of the thirds; its evident here because the lioness is in the bottom right and the focal point is in the top left.

5. Nick Brandt;
 The type of camera he uses is the Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses.
His reason for taking photos is that he wants to capture the animals soul. He doesn't use telephoto lenses because he wants to get up close to the animal.
His hope in all this is to capture the animals as if they were human.
" ...What i am interested in is showing the animals simply in the state of being. In the state of being before they no longer are. Before, in the wild at least, they cease to exist..."

Academic Shoot.

"The Story"
This picture was labeled "around the pole". I think the story behind this picture is the world as to come together and create peace. Kind of like in How The Grinch Stole Christmas, how the people in the village all came together after the grinch stole their stuff. (:

"Action and Emotion"
The action in this picture is feeding those who need it the most. The emotion is definitely there with them. Especially in the homeless people. (:

"Most interesting Stuff"
The most interesting stuff in this picture is how they captured the water or liquid in the air. (:

My favorite photo from the issue.com website is one of the Sports:Sidelines & School Spirit. This photo is of three football players all in uniform at a game. One of them is sitting on the ground and the other two are bent down on one knee. It looks to me like they just won a game and they're crying because they won. The caption of this photo is "Field Of Tears".

1. I picked this photo because i thought that it showed a lot of passion.
2. The rule of thirds is present in this photo.

Academic Shoot Questions:

1. I think that i could take pictures of Math classrooms where the kids are actually learning, and then art rooms as well.
2. I would like to visit Ms. Briseno's room to take photos.
3. I would stand in the back of the room and take a bunch of pictures of how she teaches and how well the kids pay attention to her.

Photo Shoot Reflection

1. The challenges that I faced with the first three prompts was finding the happy things throughout the school. Turns out that this school doesn't have many happy things.

2. I focused specifically on the way I held the camera. I would either hold it straight and steady or turn it on its side to get the whole object I was photographing.

3. If I were to do this again I would focus more on the focal point, and the framing of the object.

4. I would keep the way I held the camera the same.

5. I ended up achieving the simplicity and the framing.

6. I would like to shoot these again because they showed me how to actually work the camera better. I would love to do it with something else though, and not so much with the red metal happy.

Composition 9/11

Simplicity;
I chose this photo because it shows the on focus of the picture. The whole picture it shows the whole building and other buildings as well. In the simplicity rule you only want to focus on the main thing.

The Rule of Thirds;

I chose this photo because it focuses on the Verizon truck which is what the photographer wanted. In the rule of thirds rule you need to cut the photo down. Meaning divide the picture into nine little squares. Then choose four points to make the picture better and so you can see the main focal point.

Lines;
I chose this photo because it represents the diagonal line with this rule.

Balance;

I chose this photo because it represents balance. Balance is when something catches your eye. For example when something dark is against something light. Like the tree and the smoke in this picture.

Framing;
I chose this photo because the people, trees, and the sky frame the world trade centers burning and falling to the ground.

Avoiding Mergers;
I chose this photo because it avoids the mergers. The photographer angled the photo upwards. If he had taken it from right in front it would look like the other buildings were also on fire. By taking the photo this way it shows that its just those two towers burning.
